Cheryl Cole Limited Edition Lipstick

Happy Sunday my lovelies! I hope everyone has had a good week! Today’s post is  a review of one of my favourite lipsticks of the moment and Cheryl Cole’s first lipstick, L’Oreal’s Red Passion.

Back in December Cheryl Cole released her very first lipstick as part of L’Oreal’s Color Riche range. £1 from every lipstick sold goes to The Cheryl Cole Foundation in aid of The Prince’s Trust which means it’s also supporting a great cause. Unsurprisingly it’s a beautifully classic red which I think was the exactly the right choice.

The packaging is the same sleek design of the ordinary L’Oreal lipsticks but with Cheryl’s signature and the charity logo added. It’s nice because it remains elegant and isn’t as gawdy as some ‘celebrity’ products can be.

The colour itself, in my opinion, really is the perfect classic red. It’s got blue undertones meaning it makes your teeth look super white which is always a plus with bright lipstick. There’s also a really subtle hint of shimmer in the bullet which is invisible when you’ve got it on but give a lovely glossy finish. It’s bright and incredibly pigmented and goes on like a dream. As with all of the Color Riche range it’s incredibly moisturising and is really long lasting. I’ve been wearing it with a slick of Lipcote on top and it lasts me all night, even when I’m eating or drinking.

This colour really is lovely and is the right tone of red for it to suit pretty much everyone. You can tell a lot of thought went into getting the right shade and I think Cheryl and L’Oreal have really hit the nail on the head! When speaking about the lipstick before it’s launch Cheryl said;
 ”I love wearing lipstick as it makes me feel glamorous whatever the occasion. I chose this iconic luxurious, red shade as it is the perfect dramatic accessory. When selecting the shade I chose one I felt would flatter most hair and skin types, and is the red everyone wants in their make-up bag.”
I think she’s done exactly what she set out to do! I know this lipstick was incredibly difficult to get hold of when it first came out but hopefully the demand will have calmed down a bit now so it should be more readily available! It’s priced at £8.16 and is available from Boots and Superdrug.
