Benefit Ring My Bella Perfume

Hey cupcakes! Today’s review is of the latest addition to Benefit’s Crescent Row fragrance collection – let me introduce Bella!

A poem to describe Bella…

she flutters and flounces
lace, satin and more
her spirit so sexy
bella’s shop you’ll adore
slip sweetly into
a lush, juicy fling
for a frill-seeking time
“go on and ring.”
I’ve been a bit fan of Benefit for so many years now and it was my first meeting with higher end cosmetics. I love the names, the packaging and a lot of their products are ones I’d repurchase time and time again. On the many occasions that I kill half an hour at one of their counters I often check out their fragrances. My previous opinion was always that £29.50 was a lot for an Eau De Toilette that didn’t particularly WOW me, I know exactly what I like when it comes to fragrance and am normally more of an Eau De Parfum sort of girl. However, at the end of last year Benefit released their newest fragrance – Ring My Bella. On my first sniff I was converted! I fell in love with Bella’s fruity but still sexy scent and when my friend asked me what I wanted for Christmas I pointed her firmly in the direction of this perfume. When she presented me with it I was more then a little bit excited and have worn it so much since. That initial love for the fragrance definitely hasn’t worn off!

The packaging of Benefit’s fragrance are always lovely. Ring My Bella is designed as a Lingerie Shop, which I know sounds a bit strange but is actually really pretty! The box opens up and even the bottle is lovely. It’s gold and glamorous while still being young and fresh. It’s one of those things that looks great on your dressing table!

So, as pretty as it is the most important thing is the smell. Benefit describe it’s notes as:
Top Notes: Pink Rose Petals, Soft Lily and Summer Daisy
Heart: Egyptian Jasmine and Creamy Peony
Base: White Patchouli, Vanilla Tincture and White Musk
Had I read this before I’d have been really put off. I’ve never really liked anything with Patchouli base notes and I tend to find them a bit sickly. However, I can’t detect even the slightest hint of Patchouli in Ring My Bella! It also sounds a little bit too flowery in it’s description but it’s actually quite zesty as well. I would say there are hints of apple and berries (I want to say raspberry but I’m not 100% sure!) in there as well which mean it’s not too sweet or young smelling. It’s quite a distinct smell but is one that I often get complimented on. To me, it’s a flirty and feminine scent but unlike some sweeter perfumes is still quite wearable. Some people have said it’s not very long lasting but I have to disagree. I can still smell this hours after I’ve applied it.
All in all I’d encourage anyone who likes floral perfumes should give this a sniff next time they’re at a Benefit counter!
