Disappointing Products

Hey guys, today’s post is a little different. Ordinarily I don’t like to post negative reviews. However, I pride myself on always writing 100% honest posts and I figure if I  let you know which products I wasn’t very impressed with and can save you  from spending your hard earned cash on them, that can only be a good thing! I’ll be posting these in batches of five products at a time – here are the first ones! With three of these, I loved them when I first got them. They’ve since become very disappointing!

L’Oreal Universal Lip Glow
As soon as I saw this on a few blogs I had to have it. It was an idea I hadn’t seen before and that always appeals to me! When I first got it I really liked it but it was all a bit of a novelty! It’s actually just a bit of a useless product! The colour pay off is pretty rubbish and I don’t know that it actually does provide a different shade on each individuals lips. I like the design and the clear jelly look of the bullet is cool and different. Unfortunately it’s just when you come to actually use the product on the lips it’s so disappointing!

Collection 2000 Super Size Fat Lash Mascara

I actually won this mascara in a twitter competition to win a goody bag that Collection 2000 (or Collection as they are now known) were running. Some of their other mascaras I’ve used, repurchased and loved but this one just didn’t measure up. It’s got a bit bristle brush and I’m normally more of a fan of plastic brushes anyway. Despite that I wanted to give it a go. It just didn’t live up to its claims to give big, bold lashes. When applied it was just too wet and left my lashes looking lumpy and clumpy. When it eventually dried I ended up with that horrible crispy lash feeling that’s just not nice! If you’re looking for a good mascara on a budget Collection has some great offerings, unfortunately this just isn’t one of them!

L’Oreal Studio Hot Curl Thermo Curling Spray
I picked this up to use with my curling wand in the hope it would hope make my curls last longer. It didn’t! It’s supposed to protect the hair from heat as well as provide bounce and definition to your curls. To be honest, I don’t think it did any of those things! What it did do, was leave my hair with that crispy look and with curls that lasted at most an hour which is about usual for my curls without any product on them. All in all, it’s useless!
Boots 17 Falsifeye Mascara
A lot of bloggers picked up this mascara when it was first released and I think that was probably because you got a free gel eyeliner with it! Similarly to the Collection 2000 Super Size this is another mascara with a large bristle brush that picks up more product then you could ever possibly need. It’s even wetter then the Super Size and wound up under my eyes as soon as I applied it, no matter how careful I was. Of my five disappointing products this is probably the only one I can say I absolutely hate!!

MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer
When I first got this concealer I liked it, it covered my smaller blemishes well and worked well with my foundation. However, my skin has deteriorated over the past few months and I’ve ended up with more blemishes that are bigger, bumpier and in more conspicuous places. Because this concealer is so thick I thought it might be quite useful as a cover up. In fact, it’s just cakey and I don’t really know how I ever liked this! It makes my blemishes stand out like I’ve highlighted them. I find myself reaching for my Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer over this every single day and I know now it was a complete waste of £13.50! The only time I’ll be using this will be on holiday as I like that it’s water resistant and a tiny amount of product can be good to just even out my skin tone if I don’t want to wear a full face of foundation.
